REFUGEES – HOUSING – HOMELESSNESS Research on the risk of homelessness among refugees in Poland and the needs of organisations providing support to refugees [N=47] by Polish National Federation for Solving the Problem of Homelessness Research information By: A national homelessness NGOs umbrella organisation (35 member organisations) Why?: Growing concern about rapid growth in refugee homelessness within next 1-2 years Aim: Preliminary identification of the risk of homelessness among refugees and the needs of NGOs providing them with suport (ad hoc survey) Survey coverage: Nationwide (however respondents were asked for local perspectives) Period: 8-18 May 2023 Form: Online questionnaire Respondents: 47 organisations or their local branches from 13 out of 16 regions (voivodeships) of Poland: śląskie - 9, mazowieckie - 9, wielkopolskie - 5, others 1-4 Organisations supporting people in crisis of homelessness and/or refugees 18 resp. from cities above 250,000 inh., 20 from cities 50,000-250,000, 5 from cities below 50,000, 4 from rural areas Approx. 40 identified refugee centres in respondents' areas of operation 31 respondents left their contact data for further research Respondents’ experience [N=47] Please indicate your organisation’s activities so far in support of refugees from Ukraine: Meeting refugees’ needs [N=47] 1.91 2.26 1.66 1.64 2.02 1.47 Needs fully met (3) Needs met to a large extent (2) Needs met to a small extent (1) Needs not met at all (0) How would you rate the extent to which the following needs of refugees are being met in your municipality?
