Students may restrict or grant permission to their parents WVU Parent/Guest Portal, https://parent-guest.portal.wvu.edu/ SCHOOL OF NURSING Nursing Program Nursing program at WVU is 1 and 3 program First year, prerequisite and GEF courses Following 3 years, Nursing and GEF courses BSN program total credits = 122 Nursing credits = 68 Non-Nursing credits= 54 Nursing Tuition ($1,380.00/semester, currently) Background check Laptop program (MacBook Air, currently) Transportation (1st semester of senior year) SCHOOL OF NURSING Prerequisite courses for Nursing BIOL 102/104 3/1 CHEM 111 4 CHEM 112 4 ENGL 101 3 MATH 124 and/or STAT 211 3 NSG 100 2 PSIO 107 4 PSYC 101 3 SCHOOL OF NURSING General Education Foundations (GEF) General Education Foundations (GEF) provides the opportunity for students to appreciate the context of their actions and choices beyond their major field of study. Students take between 31 and 37 credits, organized into eight categories SCHOOL OF NURSING General Education Foundations (GEF) for Nursing Program SCHOOL OF NURSING Pre-Nursing Pre-Nursing students will have to formally apply to the School of Nursing. If get accepted, students will have 3 years to complete the program. Admission application for Fall 2021 Admission application is simple and free Cumulative-GPA and Prerequisite courses GPA ≥ 3.0 Deadline is between December 1st, 2020 and January 15th, 2021 Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test, Internships, Personal Statement, or Interview is not required Application status notification is in mid-March 2021 SCHOOL OF NURSING Academic Resources WVU Libraries Academic Resource Centers Tutoring WVUp All Night Subject-specific learning centers Chemistry Learning Center (for CHEM 111 and CHEM 112) Math Learning Center The WVU Writing Center SCHOOL OF NURSING Academic Advising Students are encouraged to meet their advisor often, but are required to have an advising meet with their advisor at least once per semester to discuss their academic plans for the upcoming semester, career and personal goals. Students are encouraged to contact their advisor as early as possible should the students experience any problems academically, physically and mentally.
