Senior Leader (MBA) Assessment Review for on Programme Introduction from Jonathan Gorst, Deputy Head of Department Sam Moorwood, Head of Work Based Learning, BESE Agenda: Intros and Purpose of the session (JG) Section 1: Setting context about OfSTED and the Education Inspection Framework (SM) Outcomes and actions from MESMA Deep Dive (SM) Links to the Scheme for Embedding Essentials (SM) Discussion Points for reference / reading Worked Examples Next Actions (JG) CONTEXT: Extract from Ofsted Briefing Series Preparing for Ofsted 2 – an overview of the Education Inspection Framework: What are Ofsted looking for May 2021 3 BESE OfSTED Support Resources Evaluation schedule Grade descriptors Reading the EIF Quality of Education: The 3 I’s Intent, Implementation, Impact 5 Intent Likely to be led by Senior Leaders including PVC and AD for Business & Enterprise, Governors and Professional Services Leaders, transitioning to HoDs being able to contextualise for their department Curriculum develops the KSBs that learners need to progress and that employers need Programmes focus towards the requirements of end point assessment The programme is sequenced in a way to build on previously acquired KSBs The curriculum reflects the needs of the local and regional context The curriculum is highly ambitious, academically, technically and vocationally including for those disadvantaged learners and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) 6 Implementation The scene will be set by those that manage the provision (likely to be HoD’s and Heads of in Professional Services) and this will be continued by ACL’s, HDA PL’s and Work Based Learning Teachers have expert knowledge Learners’ understanding is systematically checked, misunderstandings are corrected and clear, direct feedback is given Key concepts are embedding into learners long term memory Assessment is used to check understanding and to inform future teaching Course teams are clear on the curriculum and the requirements of end point assessment Course teams know how learners are progressing There is evidence of curriculum review and long term planning Delivery and support teams work effectively together to support learner progress and achievement 7 Impact This will be delivered by course teams (ACL and Work Based Coach) and triangulated through discussions with Apprentices and Employers Good results Acquisition of KSBs - learners remember KSBs and can connect ideas Evidence learners are making progress Distance travelled Preparation for the next stage High-quality destinations 8 Behaviours and Attitudes 9 Behaviours and attitudes Inspectors will form a judgement around: The
