Skills Bootcamps Overview of W5 Call 2 offer 11/03/24 Agenda Aims and objectives of the Skills Bootcamps Programme (Wave 5) Skills Bootcamp model Wave 5 Call 2 Regional Offer Quality Assurance and Ofsted Learner Eligibility Finance - Payment milestones Specification Application documentation ‘Key Takeaways’ Provisional timeline Q&A Aims and Objectives of the Skills Bootcamps Programme (Wave 5) Address the needs of employers in our region and the wider economy Deliver targeted interventions meeting short-medium term demand. They will help fill medium-higher level vacancies (L3-L5) – level 2 for certain sectors Support adults in to new jobs, in to new roles/responsibilities with existing employers or to take on new work opportunities/contracts. Last up to 16 weeks Minimum of 60 Guided Learning Hours (contact hours) - 100 Guided Learning Hours for Digital courses. Address the needs of adults (19+) either self-employed, employed full-time or part-time, unemployed or returning to work after a break Deliver flexible training programmes that fit around existing commitments. (Blended, online, face to face solutions are acceptable) Skills Bootcamp model Employer delivering bespoke training themselves – CPD Training provider delivers a bespoke training solution for an employer – where no training capacity lies with employer Training provider delivers a ‘generic course’ for a range of employees or general public to attend Skills Bootcamps are free to learners Where training is bespoke for an employer or an employee is enrolling on to the Skills Bootcamp with the intention of taking on new roles or responsibilities with their existing employer, a co-funded amount is required as contribution from the employer. 10% for SME, 30% for large organisation Wave 5 Call 2 Regional offer Project Details Wave 5 Call 2 Regional offer cont’d Project Details Wave 5 Call 1 Regional offer cont’d Continued Quality Assurance and Ofsted DfE & Ofsted April 2023: Ofsted inspecting all providers of Skills Bootcamps. Providers are inspected using the evaluation criteria set out in the Further Education and Skills Inspection Handbook. Broadly, Ofsted inspect Intent, Implementation & Impact of Skills Bootcamps. All 'New Providers' will receive an Ofsted Monitoring Visit within 18 months of starting delivery In addition the DfE's Skills Bootcamp Quality Assurance Team can review your contracted provision. Combined Authority The CA carry out a range of activities to monitor the quality of Skills Bootcamps and to support the improvement of outcomes for providers and learners. Quality assurance activities include: Annual monitoring visits Regular progress
