Uniform Standards AY2021-2022 Overview AFJROTC cadets wear the same basic service dress uniform as Active Duty personnel Cadets should wear the uniform properly with honor and pride AFJROTC cadets will follow uniform standards published in AFI 36-2903, Dress and Appearance of Air Force Personnel, AFJROTCI 36-2010, Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, AFJROTC Operational Supplement and the Cadet Guide. Cadets are responsible for maintaining all uniform items in a clean and orderly condition Restrictions Cadets may not wear the uniform while hitchhiking, in student demonstrations, for crowd control, political events, or for any other inappropriate activity Military personnel are prohibited from publicly supporting a particular candidate, party, or political issue while in uniform or when it is clear to others that they are members of the US military Public perception regarding the allegiance of military members to the Commander in Chief is critical As private citizens, military members are encouraged to vote and participate in our democratic process as long as they are not in uniform and do not identify themselves as military members Cadets should also follow this standard while in uniform Restrictions Do not wear the uniform with other clothing Do not allow articles such as cell phones, keys, wallets, pencils, pens, etc protrude or be visible while in uniform Do not wear earphones or headphones while in uniform Standard Cadet Uniform (w/Care Instructions) Dark blue service coat and trousers – DRY CLEAN ONLY! Light blue long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirt – WASH AT HOME Dark blue tie (males) or tie tab (females) – DRY CLEAN ONLY! Blue elastic belt with silver (chrome) tip/buckle – SPOT CLEAN Blue flight cap – DO NOT FOLD; DRY CLEAN ONLY! White undershirt – WASH AT HOME Black socks – WASH AT HOME Black leather oxford shoes – WIPE CLEAN, THEN SHINE Cadet Male Blue Shirt Unit Patch AFJROTC Patch Cadet Male Blue Shirt Name Tag: Worn on right side; centered between arm seam and lapel with bottom edge aligned with top of pocket on left side Cadet Male Blue Shirt Enlisted Ranks: Worn on left & right side of collar; centered side to side and top to bottom; point of torch points towards point of collar Cadet Male Blue Shirt Officer Ranks: Wear cloth ranks on epaulets as close as possible to shoulder seam Cadet Male Blue Shirt Male Accouterments Tie Must be worn with the service dress uniform Tip of
