1 SASI Export From the drop down menu in S
SASI Export From the drop down menu in SASI XP, select Utilities. Under “Utilities” you will find a selection called a “Query Atom” Select the Query Atom. The first drop down box under the Query Atom determines what sort of function you are in need of. The default is set for the display mode. Select from this drop down box “Export” You will see several sections where you can choose criteria for your query. In the first column select “ASCU – Student” (maybe different for each user, but you are looking for the container for Student information. Underneath the ASCU section you will see codes listed for various portions of student information (Social Security Numbers, First Name, Last Name, Homeroom, Teacher, etc…) You will need to select the information you need for the export for School Check In. For our school, we selected SSN, Class, First Name, and Last Name. We use the SSN as the ID for each student. Now, once you have selected the pieces of information you need to export, you will need to click on the button “Do Export.” On the next export screen, you will be given the option of selecting what format you want your file in. The default selection is CDL (Comma Delimited Lines(?)). You will need to export your information using this format. Once you have this prepared, press OK. Next you will be asked where you want to save this. I suggest someplace on your desktop so that you may be able to locate it quite easily. Also you should name this file something that you will recognize and/or remember (SASI Export 08-20-2003, or something). Now that you have named your file and selected the place to save it, click the “Save” button and SASI will begin exporting all the records for your students. After the export function is complete, locate your new export file and open it with Notepad or WordPad. You should find that your new file has a line for each of your students, along with all of their information separated with commas.
