hasnotasingleCommunistbeenarrestedwhenhundredsofFascistshavebeeninterned?EverycompetentauthorityknowsthatRussiaisameresatrapyofoutsideinterests--originallyAmerican-German-Jewish,nowmoredirectlyGerman.Whatisthe"Russian"JewAmbassador,Maisky,whoisinconstantcommunicationwithBerlin,doingatlargeinLondon?Isheassistingin"unityofintention?",v'DoesMr.Edenthinkthatallthevirtues,allthebrains,andallthecompetenceflourishinanorderofsociety,exemplifiedinSovietRussia,acountryof180,000,000ofpeople,70percent.ofwhomcannotreadorwrite,acountrywitharecordofmass-murderneverremotelyapproachedundertheworstoftheczars,riddledwithcorruption,onthevergeoffamine?~BecauseifMr.Eden,andthoselikehim,arechieflyinterestedinmakingBritain,Communist,wearenotgoingtobeatGermany.Wedon'tneedto.Germanywouldlikenothingbetterthanthatweshould"goCommunist."ThepowersbehindGermanyandRussiaarewillingtotaketheDictatorshipoftheWorldunderanytidewhichdupesthegreatestnumber,untilsuchtimesasitbecomesnolongera'matterofconsequencewhatthedupesthink.WhileIamconfidentthatargumentislostonMr.Eden,andthoseofhiscolleagueswho,sharehisviews,IfeelthatitshouldbeputonrecordthattheoverwhelmingmajorityofthepeopleofthiscountrydetestalmostequallytherealitiesofCommunism,Nazi-ism(NationalSocialism)andFascism.Andperhaps,asaninsignificantindividualwhoserootsintheseislandsgobackmorethanathousandyearsImightwarnmuchmoresignificantpersonsthanMr.EdenoftherisingangeroftheBritishatthesuggestionthatwehavetotakeoursocialideasatsecondhandviaeitherapaperhanger,anItaliangangster,oranAsiaticmass-murderer./../'\.Itmustsurelybeevidenttoanyonecapableofappre-ciatingthemeaningofevents-acapacitywhichinvolvesacolddisregardforthedistortingverbiageofwarpro-paganda-thatthereareimmenselypowerfulForcesoperatingthroughtheGermano-Russo-Italianblocandthe"D'markrazi"bloc,butoutsideeitherofthem,whicharemerelyconcernedtoensurethatwhicheverbloc"wins,"thecentralisedpoweroforganisations,whethermasqueradingasPan-Americanism,FederalUnion,theBankofInter-nationalSettlements,orDr.ArnoldToynbee'svagueandun-namedWorWSovereignty,shallbeintensified;andaparticularsocialideal(sofarasIcansee,quitesimilartothatdepictedintheProtocolsofZion)shallbeimposedupontheworld,andmaintainedbywhatLordLothiandescribessoattractivelyas"Law(i.e.absenteemanagement)supportedbyover-whelmingforce."ThenucleusofthissocialschemeisabureaucratisedfactorysystemontheRussianmodel,"industrialwelfare"ispresentedasthefinalaimofthemillenium,andHenryFord,itsProphet.ThattheseForcesworkedsystematically,andwithimmensecunningandability,firsttoweaken,andthento.presentGreatBritainwiththealternativeofState-SocialismorWorldWar,seemsclear.FortwentyyearswefollowedtheusualBritishhalf-bakedcourseofcompromiseduringwhichperiodeveryinterestexceptFinancewassystematicallyattacked.Iaminclinedtosuspectthatthispolicywastosomeextentabandonedwiththehappy,butfartoolongdelayed,exitofMr.Baldwin,whowasablyassistedbysuchLabour.admirersoftheBankofEnglandasLordSnowden.Fromthatmoment,ifnotbefore,warwasinevitable,andthethreatofdefeatwassubstitutedforthethreatofwar.ThatHitlerandGermanywere,andareanindispensablefactorin,thisdiabolicalpolicy,isobvious.TowhatextentHiderisatoolinusinganti-Semitism,orrather,anti-Jewinstinct,inthesamemannerthathecheerfullysacrificeshalfamillionmeninaBlitzkriegtogainapre-determinedobjective,canonlybejudgedbyitsassistancetowardstheultimateobjective.ThemiserythroughwhichGermanypassedatthehandsoftheJewsinthepre-Hitlerdays,servedthesamepurposeinreconcilingtheGermanpopulationtothefinance-backedHider,withhis"GunsbeforeButter"policy,asisservedbythedeterminedmaintainanceofanunder-privilegedclassinthe"d'markrazies."Itstimulatedarevengecomplexforuseasaweaponagainstthediminishingnumberofpersonseconomicallyorpoliticallycapableofindividualinitiative.MyownfeelingisthatHiderismerelytheusual"Myth"(wehaveatypicalinstanceinthiscountryatthepresenttime---videU.S.press)onwhichtofatheranimposedpolicy,andifhedepartedfromit,hewouldbe"liquidated."YetIamhappytofeelthat,immenselycleverandableashavebeenthepreparationsfortheinstillationofaworldtyranny,theyarenotgoingwhollyaccordingtoplan.Inordertomakealittleclearerthereasonforthisdawningfaith,itisnecessarytoexaminetosomeextentthenatureofaPlan-oneofthekeywordsofthepresentperiod,and,perhapsforthatreason,oneofthemostsubtlymisusedandmisunderstood.Theattractionwhichtheideaof"Planning"hasformanywhollywell-intentionedpeople,isdueinaconsiderabledegreetotheconfusionintheirmindsbetweentacticsandstrategy.Ifyouhavedecidedtobuildahouse,whichisastrategy,youquiteprobablydrawofit,whichistactics.Theessentioinatureofaplanisthatitisa47 I'Page4áTHESOCIALCRRDITERSaturday,June25,1960.means,notanend.Andaplan,assuch,isstatic,andquiteforeigninnaturetoanorganicgrowth,suc
