Types of TeethWhether you are

an adult, or a child, you will have most of the same types of teeth; incisors, canines and molars

Children have 20 teeth in total. 10 on the bottom, and 10 on top.

Adults have 16 on top, and 16 on the bottom, making 32 teeth altogether. The front 4 at the top and bottom are your incisors. These are used to bite your food. Adults and children all have 8 incisors altogether.

The 2 pointed teeth at the top and bottom are your canines. These rip and tear your food, and are often used when you’re eating meat.Adults and children have the same number of canines.

This is where it changes… Children have 2 molars, but adults have 2 premolars, 2 molars. Molars and pre molars are used to mash and crush your food so that you can swallow it easily. Finally, when people are older, they grow wisdom teeth, which are right at the back of their mouth.
