A guide to viewing stars the moon planets meteors comets and aurora through binocularsFeatures a foreword by renowned astronomer and writer David LevyIncludes a complete guide to current binocular brands and models and explains what to look for in each seasonMany people assume that amateur stargazers must invest hundreds or even thousands of dollars in equipment before they can enjoy the wonders of the night sky The truth is though that all you need is a simple pair of binoculars This handy easytofollow guide explains how to observe everything from the moon to meteor showers with binoculars and provides safety tips for viewing eclipses It also includes separate sections for winter spring summer and fall that give advice on what to look for and how to optimize your viewing Ideal for budding astronomers of all ages Binocular Stargazing is the perfect way to see the night sky through new eyes. Stargazing Checklist A major goal of a star party is to maintain a dark, pleasant observing environ-ment for all. While this is by no means a complete list, most seasoned stargaz-ing veterans would a Binocular Depth Information Final Project – Depth Vision. Omri Perez. 2013. Intro. Depth Cues. You might find yourself asking questions like, Is that bright object a planet or a star? What does the constellation Perseus look like? When\'s the next meteor shower? Find these answers and more in Simply Stargazing. The tabbed booklet is simple and convenient to use, with full-color photographs and illustrations. Topics are organized by season for quick and easy identification, and award-winning author Jonathan Poppele offers observation tips and instructions on everything from the moon, planets, and deep-sky objects to the ecliptic and the zodiac.Six full-sky charts make locating constellations a snap at any time of year. You\'ll learn about spotting planets, meteor showers, and more. A timetable for meteor showers further enhances your knowledge of stargazing. The booklet\'s pocket-size format is much easier to use than laminated foldouts, and the tear-resistant pages help to make the book durable in the field.Keep Simply Stargazing close at hand on your next nighttime outing. Stargazing: Photographs of the Night Sky from the Archives of NASA is a photographic collection of the night sky\'s most extraordinary phenomena. These images from the archives of NASA reveal stunning photos of the cosmos, from radiant aurora borealis to awe-inspiring lunar eclipses.Complete with a preface by Bill Nye, this collection of photographs perfectly captures the wonder of looking up at the night sky.• Each breathtaking photo is paired with an informative caption about the scientific phenomena it reveals and the technology used to capture it• Beautiful on display on the coffee table• A go-to gift for both serious and casual stargazersThis collection of photographs illuminates the darkness of space in a whole new way.Blending art and science, the magnificent images of Stargazing captures the imagination of anyone interested in astronomy, travel, photography, and space exploration.• The only book from NASA that focuses solely on the night sky• A perfect gift for space lovers, stargazers, science geeks, scientists, parents, students, recent graduates, photographers and photography lovers, and NASA fans• Great for those who loved Earth and Space: Photographs from the Archives of NASA by Nirmala Nataraj, Infinite Wonder: An Astronaut\'s Photographs from a Year in Space by Scott Kelly, and The Hubble Cosmos: 25 Years of New Vistas in Space by David H. Devorkin and Robert W. Smith The sky was our original calendar, our original storybook, the first illustrated edition, the prototype GPS. Beyond its pragmatic usefulness, the sky was the domain of spirit, traversed by deities and a place to which human souls departed. Let\'s re-enchant it, shall we?-Renna ShessoImpeccably researched by one of the most eclectic pagan scholars working today, this book aims to reengage our fascination with the planets and stars. Shesso looks at the mythology, legend, science and lore about the planets and most significant stars in a chapter-by-chapter format. Included are nearly 150 diagrams and illustrations--of the heavens, astrological views, depictions of gods and goddesses, sky totems, Tarot symbols, star charts, and more.Anyone with even a vaguely pagan bent, anyone with a reverence for the natural world, who has ever marveled at the night sky will love this enchanted view of the planets and stars.Previously published as A Magical Tour of the Night Sky 9781578634958 1. st. . In this paper, a workpiece detection and positioning system has been studied. Firstly, data sets of workpieces with three different shapes (cube, cylinder and sphere) are established, and the YOLOV3 target detection algorithm is used for deep learning to realize intelligent recognition of different shapes of workpieces. Then by the use of binocular machine vision technology, the key points position of workpieces can be successfully detected with relative error less than 2 %. This workpiece detection and positioning system can be introduced in the mechanical arm grabbing control system to make it has the visual ability similar to human in order to realize mechanical arm intelligent grabbing in complex environment..
