Professional requirements: If a corporation, partnership, joint venture, LLC or LLP, have liability and worker\'s compensation insurance and have in your employ a licensed individual who is designated Responsible Managing Employee (RME). If a RME, be employed by a licensed contracting entity. Experience requirements: Have 4 years of supervisory experience within the past 10 years if a sole proprietor or responsible managing employee. EXAMINATIONS: Exam in the appropriate classification. FEES: $50 for application. For entities: $355 for 2-year license, $150 for recovery fund, $10 for education fund, and $148 for biennial compliance resolution fund; license renewal every 2 years is $190. License Description: DESCRIPTION OF OCCUPATION: An Electrologist removes hair from skin using needles and electrical equipment. REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING: Hawaii does not reciprocate with any jurisdiction, therefore, a person shall apply, qualify, be tested, and pay the necessary fees to become licensed in Hawaii. Personal requirements: 1) Be 18 years of age. 2) Be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. Experience and education requirements: Have electrology training (schooling/apprenticeship) in compliance with Hawaii\'s curriculum: a) Recognized schooling totaling 600 hours; or b) Qualified apprenticeship totaling 800 hours; or c) Combination schooling and apprenticeship totaling 700 hours. Experience is recognized only after licensure and/or completion of training, and for the purpose of satisfying differences in the training requirements. Experience totaling 1 year is necessary, any experience totaling less than 1 year will not be recognized. Submit copies of all electrologist licenses. Disqualification for licensure: 1) Criminal conviction associated with the electrologist\'s practice; 2) Declared mentally incompetent by a court; and 3) Administrative disciplinary action against the electrologist\'s license. EXAMINATIONS: Exam administered by a professional testing service. FEES: $50 foapplication, $96 for 2-year license, and $100 for the biennial compliance resolution fund. License renewal every 2 years is $96. OTHER: There were 10 licenses currently active as of February 17, 2021. ~ revised 10/16

FEES: Between July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022, pay $151 (application $10, registration $54, compliance resolution fund $51, 2/3 Triennial Reneawal Fee - $36). License Description: DESCRIPTION OF OCCUPATION: A Massage Therapist massages customers using a variety of techniques such as kneading, rubbing, or pressing motions of the hands, elbows, or fingers to stimulate blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, or treat other conditions. REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING: Personal requirements: Be beyond 18 years of age. Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or alien authorized to work in the U.S. Professional requirements: Have a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate for both infant and adult issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Assn. Education requirements: 1) Complete 50 hours of in-class course work in human anatomy, physiology, and structural kinesiology. 2) Complete 100 hours of in-class course work on theory and demonstration of massage. 3) Complete 420 hours of practical massage training under supervision of teacher or sponsoring massage therapist. EXAMINATIONS: State Massage Licensing Exam. FEES: $50 for application, $64 for 2-year license, and $100 for biennial compliance resolution fund. Renewal every 2 years is $64. May help deal with addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging and mental and emotional health. Education requirements: Master\'s or Doctoral degree from an accredited educational institution in counseling or allied field related to the practice of mental health counseling. Complete graduate level coursework in couseling comprising a minimum of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours and include required subject areas. EXAMINATIONS: National Counselor Exam for Licensure and Certification (NCE).
