Shorts/Skirts/Jeans/Dresses
The length of shorts or skirts must be no shorter than 3.5 inches (length of ID card) above the top of the knee.
Sagging pants/shorts are not allowed. They must fit around your waist naturally or with a belt. If they are sagging, you will be sent to your AP and receive a

to tie them
together.
Earrings
Boys may not wear
earrings or band-aides to cover them up
No
piercings other than in the ears are allowed (no nose rings)
Head Coverings
No
hats, caps, beanies
or bandanas
may be worn in the building at any time.
Hoodies may not be covering your head during the school day

AHS has Green Zones and Red Zones.
Green Zones: Areas in which electronic devices are not restricted unless they are being used inappropriately (Hallways, Cafeteria, and Flex Areas)
Red Zones: No electronic devices are allowed to be in use. All classrooms are Red Zones unless you are given specific permission by the teacher. Red and Green Zone cards will be in use by the teachers in each classroom.

Slide10Technology: Inappropriate Use/Harassment and “Sexting”
Students are prohibited from possessing, sending, forwarding, posting, accessing or displaying electronic
messages that
are abusive, obscene, sexually oriented, threatening, harassing, damaging to another student’s reputation
or illegal.
This prohibition also applies to conduct off school property, whether the equipment used to send
such messages
is district-owned or personally owned, if it results in a substantial disruption to the
educational environment.
Any person taking, disseminating, transferring, possessing, or sharing obscene, sexually
oriented, lewd
, or otherwise illegal images or other content, commonly referred to as “sexting,” are in violation of this
policy and
may, in certain instances be reported to law
enforcement.

Do not give your log-in information out to anyone. Computer activity from your log-in is considered to be you.
Everything students do on a computer can be tracked.

You may not spend your lunch time in the hallways, flex
area, etc. If you are found in these areas, you will be considered as out of designated area and assigned a consequence.

If you are absent and do not bring a note signed by your parent and give to the attendance office, the absence is recorded as an unexcused absence.
Students have
48 hours
after their return to school to bring an absence excuse note.

Unexcused absences, if not corrected within the 48 hour timeline, will
remain
an unexcused absence

Truancy is considered any absence without permission of parent or school
authority.
We run a daily unexcused absence/truancy report in each house.
Consequences

You may not receive a grade higher than 70 for work you miss
Slide17Attendance for Class credit
90% Rule: Students must be in attendance 90% of the days a class is offered in order to receive credit for the course.
If a student is absent 9 or more days per semester (excused and unexcused combined) they will lose credit for the class. Regardless of the grade earned in the class.

You will be required to complete 1 hour of seat time for each period you are absent after the 8

Slide23ID Badges
ID badge must be worn at all times.
ID Badge must be kept on lanyard and worn in plain sight around the neck with picture facing out.
Students who lose, damage or deface their badge will be assessed a $5.00 replacement fee for badge and $2.00 for a replacement lanyard.
Students without ID badge will not be allowed to enter class and will be charged $2.00 for a temporary badge to be worn visible on the chest.

If you forget your ID badge, you must get a temporary badge from a house secretary before entering class. If you are tardy because you had to get a temporary badge, then you will be assigned the appropriate consequence for the tardy.
Failure to get a temporary badge before school starts will result in a dress code violation.
Failure

Students who do not have official school business on campus must be off school grounds by
3:00pm.
The gates will close at 3:00pm each day.

Students are

allowed to carry around medications on their person.
All medications (prescriptions and non-prescription) must be registered through and kept in the nurse’s office.
You must have a pass from a teacher to enter the nurse’s office

your parents from your cell phone if you are
sick…ask for a pass from your teacher and use
the nurse’s
phone.
