Musical Fees – how much does it cost and when is it due?

Fees pay for costumes, cast t-shirts, and rehearsal snacks

Total of $60 due by performance time – it can be paid all at once

The ”Musical Participation” Fee is due by September 30 - $20 paid to the office

There are two costume fees of $20 each; one due by October 31, the second by November 22

This fee is normal for participation in a musical or play

Most producers of musicals and plays do not have enough, if any storage for a gluttony of costumes

Each show requires a different look so stockpiling is next to pointless

Problems with paying? Please see Mr. Stephenson or Mr. C as soon as possible to work out other arrangements

Slide4

Attendance –

When does my child need to be at rehearsals and what happens if they need to miss

ALL ATTENDANCE QUESTIONS OR ISSUES NEED TO GO THROUGH MR. C!!

There is a difference between “EXCUSED” and “UNEXCUSED” absences

Any rehearsal conflicts listed on the audition form, plus a very small amount of emergency unexpected absences, are “EXCUSED”

Reminders to Mr. C before the absence are helpful

They do not count against the Allowed Absence Total

Any other absence, no matter the reason, is an UNEXCUSED absence.

Each student is allowed 5 (FIVE) UNEXCUSED absences (Allowed Absence Total)

After 5 unexcused absences, the student is dropped from the show

A last minute unplanned absence explained away by an email does not make it EXCUSED

Leaving early or arriving late also counts against the Allowed Absence Total

Slide5

More Attendance

During final production month (January) and on every mandatory rehearsal listed, all absences become UNEXCUSED, even if they were originally listed or notification was given

Missing school but showing up at rehearsals = THIS CANNOT HAPPEN EVER

ALL ATTENDANCE ISSUES MUST GO THROUGH MR. C!!

Slide6

ACADEMICS –

TOO TIRED TO DO HOMEWORK :`(

Academics come first. No excuses

Rehearsal days and times shifted to allow teacher/student interaction

Grade checks

Failing grades may lead to dismissal from the musical

Slide7

Volunteers – how can I help?

Every family of a participating child (including stage crew) is expected to donate 6-10 hours

Set building, painting, sewing costumes, prop acquisition and tracking, publicity, REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE SUPERVISION (MOST IMPORTANT)

Committees are available to apply your talents to the most beneficial area for you

Volunteering does not necessarily mean babysitting.
