Main ArgumentThe Bachelor and T he Bachelorette is a long running reality TV show that has sparked up many controversies. The shows have been under speculation for not only being anti-feminist, but also for being sexist, therefore women who continue to watch this show hold up a double standard to themselves and women across A merica.
The Bachelor Industry privileges compulsory heterosexuality and whiteness, and normalizes certain versions of "woman," specifically, a certain type of emotional state (not crazy, or too emotional, but also open enough to find love), and a certain type of body (generally thin, stylish, and with flawless skin ) that is deemed beautiful. ConclusionThese shows are very sexist.Videos of Bachelor’s going to watch parties during the time their seasons are airing. Women complain about being sexualized in the media and how they are not being able to be taken seriously.
