Disciples
making Disciples
Jesus commands disciples to make disciples / students/followers (Math. 28:19,20)Jesus promised continued presence – I am with you always Last week we saw that a true disciple
is
one who has understood and confessed the facts of the gospel
, and thus
repented by entrusting themselves to
the Lord Jesus Christ by faith from the heart, resulting in genuine conversion. Conversion leads to an obedient following of Jesus so that within a reasonable period of time fruit/works/ are produced. Slide3

Peter’s First Sermon
Act 1:15-16 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said, (16) "Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;
Peter dealt with an in-house problem and sought to choose a new apostle to fill Judas’ place.Slide5

In House Problems
“Houston we have a problem
!”A misquotation of the ominous announcement made by Commander Jim Lovell following the explosion of an oxygen tank on Apollo 13 which tore off the side of the spacecraft service module. Lovell actually said, "Houston, we've had a problem." The Great commission (Math. 28:18-20) is to make disciples
, not
get
people to
merely make
decisions. True disciples are true followers of Christ. Decisional only POFs don’t become true disciples. They become religionists who are form without substance( Christ is the substance) Rather than focusing on decisions we must focus more on making true disciples and concentrate more on the healthy spiritual DNA development.

Disciple Maker # 1
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (19) Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even
to the end of the age." Amen. (Mat 28:18-20)
This day…..as a true follower of Jesus Christ, I choose to be a growing disciple and a disciple maker. I have already repented from my sins and unbelief but now I am repenting to biblical discipleship. I choose this day to prayerfully seek Jesus to manifest in my life to the end that my faith develops into obedient actions concerning His call to discipleship. I understand that this decision is between Jesus and myself alone as I trust the working of His mighty power to do what He has called me to do….make disciples. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. (1Th 5:24) Name Date
