What Are The Various Myths And Gods In The Greek Culture? Slide2

How Did Greece Start?

Greece started when a bird laid an egg. From the egg came Eros, god of love. The top egg flew up and became Uranus, god of the sky. The bottom egg fell down and became Gaea, goddess, of the earth. Uranus and Gaea had many children. These were called Titans. The chief Titan was Cronus, his wife was Rhea. Cronus was hateful. He didn’t want any of his children to replace him as chief, so every time his wife gave birth, he swallowed the baby. But when Zeus was born, Rhea hid him from Cronus. When Zeus grew up and challenged his father, Cronus threw up all his children that he swallowed. They were all adults. They were all gods. They ruled the universe. The

greeks

believed that these gods lived on top of

Mt.Olympus

, and they even believed that the most important gods were Olympians, there were 12, they are………………
