ART PROJECT: Beginning Sewing (4th and 5th grades only)* - 6th grade student helpers wanted! * = New 6th grade students or any 6th grader who was NOT in Miss Muehl’s art class as a 5th grader MAY sign up. All current 6th grade students learned to sew last year.WHEN: FALL - Monday November 6th & Wednesday November 8th 2017 – ends at 4 pmWHAT: Students who sign up are required to attend BOTH sessions. Students will learn the basics of hand sewing and will sew miniature emoji pillows. Felt, thread, sewing needles, and fluff will be provided. Students will be using metal sewing needles for this project. Students MAY bring in their own fabrics/supplies for this project if they wish.NOTE: PROJECT MUST BE LIMITED TO 20 TOTAL STUDENTS. If a high number of slips are turned in, a second set of dates will be made and students who turned in a slip will be placed. Please be sure to turn in permission slips AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.PERMISSION SLIPS ARE AVAILABLE. PERMISSION SLIPS DUE OCTOBER 24th.

ART PROJECT: Acrylic Canvas Painting (open to all grade levels)WHEN: SPRING - Monday March 5th & Wednesday March 7th 2018 – ends at 4 pmWHAT: Students will be painting their own designs on canvas for this project. Students will learn important painting techniques. Acrylic paint and brushes will be provided. Students MUST bring in one or more canvases for this project. Canvases can be any size, shape, or type. Students MAY bring in their own painting supplies if they wish.PERMISSION SLIPS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS ACTIVITY UNTIL JANUARY. ART PROJECT: Advanced Sewing (5th & 6th grade only*)* = STUDENTS MUST KNOW HOW TO HAND SEW TO PARTICIPATE.WHEN: FALL- Monday November 27th & Wednesday November 29th 2017 – ends at 4 pm WHAT: Students who sign up are required to attend BOTH sessions
