WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT ______________________________ ______________________________ _________________ P. O. Box 428, School Street Robert Zega, Ed.D. Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095 Superintendent of Schools Telephone: (732) 602 - 8472 Fax : (732) 750 - 3493 November 9, 2020 Dear Woodbridge Township Families: Welcome back! I hope everyone had a safe, enjoyable Fall Break. By now you have received information from your school regarding scheduling concerns for our staff who will need to quarantine due to close contact or due to travel. As a result, we will not be able to offer hybrid instruction at some schools or in some classes. The need to quarantine for those individuals is an important measure to keep our students and staff safe. The quarantine has shown to be an effective precaution to prevent spread of COVID - 19, despite COVID positive individuals in our schools. Please keep in mind that regardless of having a negative Covid - 19 test result, the individual must still quarantine. Below is list of our schools and their current status: All H igh S chools : Fully remote until 11/23 RISE: Hybrid; continue current schedule Avenel MS: Fully remote until 11/23 Colonia MS: Fully remote until 11/23 For ds MS: Fully remote until 11/23 Iselin MS: Hybrid; continue current schedule Woodbridge MS: Fully remote until 11/23 Elementary Schools: Remote or hybrid class by class It is important to remember that although schools are switching to fully remote; we are switching because of quarantined staff, not because of an outbreak. Our schools remain safe and many of our teachers will continue to work from their classrooms. We will continue to prioritize providing continuity of education for all, including in - person instruction for parents who prefer it. We will also prioritize maintaining in - person classes for our elementary students and for our special programs. Please continue to use all recommended health precautions. Even as the new case rate continues t o rise in NJ, we must maintain our preventive practices. Our ultimate goal, returning to normal, will become a reality only if we all work together. If you have any questions, please contact your principal. Stay safe. Robert Zega, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools
