Yote Traditions Council: Building our Community Undergraduate Student Engagement Programming: Member for Life What? A comprehensive approach to student philanthropy/engagement programming with the objective of creating student understanding and awareness of CofI’s institutional mission, history and traditions, the partnership financing higher education, College goals, and the role of alumni and students within the greater College community. The programs inaugural event “Holiday Tree Lighting” was first held in 2013 and program for all four undergraduate classes has been ongoing. Why? The program is designed to:  Teach students about CofI’s rich history and diverse traditions  Foster tradition and pride  Promote and inspire class unity  Offer opportunities for direct communication between students and alumni  Educate students about our institutional strengths and challenges in preparation for their lifelong role as alumni  Make students aware of the resources available to them after they leave the College  Keep young alumni engaged and connected to CofI after graduation (GOLD) Who? Programs are delivered by Alumni Relations and Yote Traditions with support of the President’s Office and Student Affairs together with students, other College staff, alumni, volunteers, and Trustees. It is managed by Sally Skinner and Lauren Bevill in Alumni Relations in conjunction with the Development Office and Savala Smith in Student Affairs. Core Messages 1. Establishing a lifelong relationship with CofI 2. Supporting CofI with your time, talent, and financial resources 3. Learning and maintaining CofI’s student traditions 4. Understanding the financing of education at CofI 5. Maintaining the value of your CofI degree 6. Preserving the College experience for future students 7. Helping CofI meet its challenges as an institution 8. Learning the history of the College 9. Sustaining CofI’s excellence Participation Programming Scholarship Gala Coyote Connections Yotes Night Out Senior Week collaborations Senior Legacy Planned Programming Alumni Tassel Tunnel Holiday Tree Lighting Homecoming Family Weekend Founder’s Day
