Save the World: Create a cure for the Zombie Epidemic
You have just graduated from medical school with a concentration in neuroscience and
the world
needs your help! End the Zombie Apocalypse by developing a super drug that can target the specific damaged parts of a zombie brain. In groups, you will use what you have learned about neuroscience and create your very own “cure” using the following synthesized versions of the neurochemicals dopamine, serotonin, GABA, epinephrine, and glutamate.

Note, in this special case you may:
1. Use these synthesized neurochemicals as either agonists or antagonists
2. Use neurotransmitters to target specific areas in the brain for regrowth/shrinking/decay
3. Decide to have different neurotransmitters take effect in a specific order instead of all at once or as extended or quick releaseAim: How can neurotransmitters be used to cure the zombie epidemic?Slide4
Time is of the essence as more than 2 billion people have died and more are becoming infected each day. Using the key below create the cure that will save humanity, and explain the specific actions and locations in the brain that your drug targeted.

Requirements
Make sure to answer the following questions on your chart paper
1. Give your zombie cure a name and explain why you chose it
2. Which specific zombie behaviors did you choose to target and what parts of the brain does this behavior stem from?3. What behaviors do you anticipate your cure causing and stopping?4. Prescription: I will give you a post it for this5. What effects to behavior would occur if your cure wears off?
Also…
Include an image of your drug on the chart paper. This can be a representation of the neurotransmitters (skittles) that would be present in your cure in the shape of a pill (I don’t have test tubes…sorry)
Label the parts of the brain that will be impacted by your drug in the color of the neurotransmitter that will have the impact on that location
