It is a . generalisation. that is made about a group and then attributed to members of that group. . An over-simplified, generalized belief about all people who belong to a certain social group (e.g. Canadians are nice). When we stereotype a group of people, we depict all of the individuals within that group as having the same characteristics. Stereotypes. Black people.. Poor health. Victims. Famine. Sick. Poor. Primitive. Violent. Slaves. They . know karate . They . are awesome at math. . They . excel at some kind of instrument -- usually violin, piano, clarinet, flute. . to . Grade 8 . Health.
