PRESS RELEASE   13 th October, 2018 Together We Succeed The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) in collaboration with officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on 12 th October 2018, carried out impromptu surveillance and compliance inspections on fuel stations in Tana River County. During the operation, three suspects were arrested and charged for selling petroleum products above the maximum retail pump prices contrary to section 4(b) of the Energy Regulations, 2010 as read with section 102(w) of the Energy Act 2006.  The three, Lukeman Omar Mohammed, owner of Leila Petrol Station, Ibrahim Hussein Hassan and Abdallah Mohammed Bajoh who are managers of Heller and A.A. Bayasuf and Sons petrol stations respectively will be arraigned in court. The Commission urges members of the public to continue being vigilant and to immediately report any instances of malpractice or suspected petroleum overpricing activities to the Commission through: compliance@erc.go.ke or hotline numbers 0708 444 000 or 0709 336 000.
