Called Egyptian Hallel Psalms because of their connection with the Passover Feast. Psalms 113-114 sung at beginning of Passover meal. Psalm 119. In . the psalm the psalmist sings of the Law of God. He describes every aspect of the Law and its place in the hearts of Israel.. Psalm 119. In describing the Law the psalmist uses synonyms. The words testimonies, precepts, judgments, statutes, and God’s word are used throughout the psalm. When read, one can see the importance of the Law to the life of Israel.. And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”. “Day to day . pours forth speech,”. “And night to night . reveals knowledge.”. “There is no speech, nor are there words; . Their voice is not heard.. v. 2 .  He’s in a muddy pit (can you relate?!). v. 1  He cries to the Lord for help . . . then . . waits patiently. v. 2  The Lord brings him out of the pit. v. 3a  The Lord gives him a new song to sing.
