119 is the longest psalm. It has 176 verses and it is divided into 22 stanzas. Each stanza begins with the letters of the Hebrew alphabet consecutively.Slide3

the psalm the psalmist sings of the Law of God. He describes every aspect of the Law and its place in the hearts of Israel.Slide4

In describing the Law the psalmist uses synonyms. The words testimonies, precepts, judgments, statutes, and God’s word are used throughout the psalm. When read, one can see the importance of the Law to the life of Israel.Slide5

The psalm says that those who are undefiled are blessed before God. This undefiled means to be perfect, complete, without spot, without blemish. It is the idea of being blameless. This is the condition that a Christian should strive for daily.Slide7

The meaning of this is that those who are of God do not actively or passively pursue sin but turn from it
