Even if your home looks at first glance to be spotlessly clean, you can be sure that there will be some dust particles lurking somewhere, and some homes suffer more with dust than others. Unsightly when it settles on top of surfaces in the home, dust can also cause a lot of health problems for people, especially those who suffer from allergies or other breathing problems. For those who have asthma, excess dust can really exasperate their condition. Two of the major culprits responsible for getting our walls grubby, are kids and pets. Kids will pick up crayons and scribble on the paintwork, or scuff their shoes along the edges, while pets may scratch at walls while they’re left home alone or simply rub against them when their coats are wet and muddy. While there is no magic solution to this problem, cleaning the walls regularly should help, and here are a few tips to help you achieve the clean walls that your home deserves: Guard Room. “The Guards are composed of a detachment of men who are to mount daily for the security of the garrison.” The Guard room is where the men comprising the guard would take their rest between shifts. The guard was typically made up of twice the number of men this room could hold (eight) because half would be on watch while the other half rested. Watches would be changed every two hours. Soldiers who were off duty had to remain fully dressed, ready to turn out quickly in case of any alarm. A Guard mount would include an officer of the guard, a sergeant of the guard, at least one corporal of the guard, a drummer, and about 14 privates. .
