An updated program is due, we have had the same basic
format for 25 years
and it is time to modernize our system!
NEW concept very well received so far and voted in UNANIMIOUSLY by the state federations at the 2015 meeting.
The VAST majority of TBF members have NO interest in fishing full time as a full time pro. They just want to go fishing and maybe advance to a big event once a year or so!Slide2

We are EXPANDING from 7 TBF Division Championships
to over 20 close to home TBF National Semi-Final Tournaments!
CLOSER to home, much LESS travel = MUCH less expense!

We transition from 7 TBF Division Championships to over 20 TBF

ational Semi-Final Championship events
All TBF State Federations are “paired up” in 2 or 3 state “Districts”
NO longer is there the cost & time of traveling 12 to 16 hours or more
across 7 or 8 states to compete in a full week long event. Too many members simply cannot do that anymore.
You only need to go “Next Door” and fish in a weekend event, every other year! Compete in a TBF National Semi-Final event close to home to advance to the TBF Federation National Championship ! Slide4

States that grow or have more members advance more members to each “local” TBF

ational Semi-Final event
All active TBF states advance a minimum or 12 anglers or a maximum 10% of their annual in state participation to a fall National Semi-Final!
Entire qualification process from State to qualifying for the TBF Federation
National Championship will transition to only one (1) calendar year over time.
As a “working persons,” grassroots organization that TBF is, not only can more members fish a weekend National Semi-Final event vs a week long event like today, but since the travel is MUCH less they can still be to work on Monday morning! Slide5

ADVANCEMENT opportunities for each TBF club!
Something we have always wanted is a piece of the pie for every TBF club!
All TBF clubs in good standing with their state federation and following state requirements are allowed to advance (2) anglers
(1 boater and 1 co-angler ) each year directly from the club to their
home states National Semi Finals!
Be active and in good standing, support your state federation and advance JUST by fishing your local club tournaments! Slide6

Funding and $$ MONEY!
In the Federation’s 45 year history we have never had a entry fee past the state level.
T
he member’s feedback is they want to fish for some money on a individual basis!
Since we SAVED the cost of much more travel and SAVED the cost of a weeklong events, everyone has more cash to invest to build a program that is affordable for ANY member AND provides a PAID path to support those
top finishers who
advance.
AND if they finish well at the new “local” TBF National Semi Finals they would likely EARN enough money that most everyone should be able to go and travel to the TBF Federation National Championship. Slide7

100% overall payback MINIMUM!

oater & a $100 Co-angler entry fee at each TBF National Semi-Final event!
Depending on your state federation, some members can EARN these entry fees paid through their state programs and it will cost them NOTHING to enter!
The TBF National Semi-Final events will be Boater / Co-Angler format the same as the Federation Championship always has been.
TWO separate pots of money and no coin flips for boats. 75% payback to the individual anglers to 20% of the field on BOTH the Boaters & C
o-angler side at each National Semi-Final event
10% divides up between the state federations for event costs.
15% goes to support a bigger better Federation National Championship for the boaters AND THE CO-ANGLERS!Slide8Slide9Slide10

The nuts and bolts of it all.
These are NATIONAL TBF events in most cases hosted and conducted by State Federations.
ONE set of rules for all National Semi- Finals across the nation.
A pre-determined, pre-announced, on-sight local tournament official with an angler appeal process direct to TBF National Office senior staff.
All entry fees, 1099’s and payouts are handled by TBF National Office. All prize checks will be mailed directly to the anglers home after the event. No prize money is handled locally.

Top 10% of all state wide participation can advance to a National Semi-Final (no limit) or a minimum of 12

Each state pre-identifies it’s Top 8

Co-angler(s) who weigh more total weight than their state top ADVANCING Boater can choose to ALSO advance to the Federation Championship as a Boater (NO ONE LOSES THEIR SPOT) , we will pull up the next Co-angler and that state simply sends MORE!Slide12

How do I qualify for the Federation Championship?
The more member who fish the National Semi Finals from your state the more members who can qualify from your state.
Every Federation qualifies a MINIMUM of one (1) Boater and (1) Co-angler to fish the Federation National Championship.
Then an additional Boater and Co-angler will qualify and advance from your state for each 50 member milestone who attends the National Semi Finals. (2

Everyone practices up to two days out of own boats just like today.
