Cactus Care

In most cases cactus will do well inside as long as you remember 3 things!FoodLightWaterSlide6

Watering

Cactus in pots need more water than cactus plants in the ground. They need watered about once every 2 weeks.Slide7

Watering

Here is a tip:When trying to decide to water the cactus take a wooden pencil or dow rod and place it down in the soil all the way to the bottom of the pot, when removed, if there is damp soil on it do not water the cactus.Slide8

Light

Sun is very important when dealing with a cactus. In the house...Place near a bright window. On the patio…Place it in a partly shaded area.Slide9

Light

FUN FACT!Never bring the cactus home and place it in bright sun.A cactus can get sun burnt just like a person!Slide10

Food

Cactus Plants Like To Eat!Cactus plants thrive when given very diluted fertilizers.A fertilizer that is too strong will burn it.Feed the cactus a very small amount several times each month.Slide11

Pot Size and Repotting

Cactus start out in very small pots. After a couple months the cactus will be growing and need a larger pot.Tip:It is better to have the cactus in a pot that is too big than too small.Slide12

Pot Size and Repotting

A cactus will use all of the nutrients in its soil. The perfect potting mix for a cactus:1 part potting mix (not soil)1 part washed sand1 part coarse gravelSlide13

Ivy Care

English Ivy is a very common houseplant.Basic care for this plant is pretty easy.Slide17

Watering

Ivy does not need too much water.Approximately once per week.Keep soil evenly moist but not too soggy. Also, do not let water just sit in the watering tray under the pot.Slide18

Light

Ivy plants like bright light but not direct sun. They thrive when placed under fluorescent lighting.Tip:If the white tips of the leaves begin to turn green you know that it needs more light.Slide19

Fertilizer

English Ivy does not respond well to frequent fertilizing treatments.Fertilize the plant monthly with a high nitrogen fertilizer.Slide20

Temperature

When it comes to temperature ivy isn’t too picky!English ivy does the best in cool to average room temperatures ranging from 50*F- 70*FSlide21
