Cactus in pots need more water than cactus plants in the ground.They need watered about once every 2 weeks.Slide7

Here is a tip:When trying to decide to water the cactus take a wooden pencil or dow rod and place it down in the soil all the way to the bottom of the pot, when removed, if there is damp soil on it do not water the cactus.Slide8

Sun is very important when dealing with a cactus.In the house...Place near a bright window.On the patio…Place it in a partly shaded area.Slide9

Cactus Plants Like To Eat!Cactus plants thrive when given very diluted fertilizers.A fertilizer that is too strong will burn it.Feed the cactus a very small amount several times each month.Slide11

Cactus start out in very small pots.After a couple months the cactus will be growing and need a larger pot.Tip:It is better to have the cactus in a pot that is too big than too small.Slide12

English Ivy is a very common houseplant.Basic care for this plant is pretty easy.Slide17

Ivy does not need too much water.Approximately once per week.Keep soil evenly moist but not too soggy.Also, do not let water just sit in the watering tray under the pot.Slide18

Ivy plants like bright light but not direct sun.They thrive when placed under fluorescent lighting.Tip:If the white tips of the leaves begin to turn green you know that it needs more light.Slide19
Fertilizer
English Ivy does not respond well to frequent fertilizing treatments.Fertilize the plant monthly with a high nitrogen fertilizer.Slide20
