YMCA Camp Classen Nov. 4-8

What is Camp Classen? It is SCHOOL YMCA ran camp—located near Davis, OK Provides opportunity for Outdoor School Week-long (M-F) Focuses on Science curriculum of 5 th grade

Why do we attend Camp? Builds community relationships Teaches 5 th grade Science Curriculum Hands-on learning Develops whole child Builds discipline, responsibility and team work Solidifies student-teacher-parent relationships

Money Student cost-$255 Parent cost-$215 Start saving now if possible.  Chocolate bar fundraiser will be available next year Make sure to pick up an informational sheet about chocolate bar sales Starting August 15 th an account will be set-up where you can pay on-line. There will be a small fee.

Typical Day at Camp Begin day at Flag for announcements/pledge Breakfast Activity-school chooses Canoeing/Kayaking Archery Tomahawk throwing Horseback Riding Fishing Challenge Course Riflery Lunch Trail Warren  Fossil Lake Dinner Night Activity Snake Man Flag Retirement Night Hike Skits

Teacher Responsibility Teach trail Assist with supervision of students YMCA camp staff will help where needed. They will lead most morning activities. Lead and provide energy Administer and monitor student medication

Parents Must have parent volunteers to stay with students in the cabins (2 per cabin). Must pass federal background check Supervise students at all times!  Must be able to attend camp the full week!

General Information Pack clothes listed on provided packing list Pack bedding for twin bunk bed No cell phones or electronics—send mail Must bring to school on Monday and pick up on Friday Choose cabin mates Father/daughter or mother/son Medicine with required forms Cameras Notify teams, dance, etc. that your child will be gone for the week Behavior or illness Paperwork—important info., shots—just need date
