The Council of European Jamaats (COEJ) wants to create an environment motivated by our Islamic faith to encourage fair play, sportsmanship and team spirit. The Mulla Asghar Memorial Tournament (MAMT) wants to provide an opportunity to enhance community spirit through effective networking between individuals and Jamaats by organizing an annual tournament in a family environment. The annual Mulla Asghar
Memorial Tournament is the epitome of Islamic values. This annual tournament that we, COEJ organise, going from city to city represents and promotes brotherhood, sportsmanship and unity. With over one thousand participants and spectators annually, it is a stepping-stone for participants to represent their communities with pride. Our COEJ community through MAMT develop personalities, spiritually and creating a large family bond within all participants and spectators. IMPORTANT PENALTY CHARGE NOTICE FOR LATE ENTRIESPlease note there will be a strict penalty placed upon any Jamaat
who does not submit their entries by the agreed date of Friday 4th August 2017 11pm.
We ask all participants and Jamaats to work together to ensure that this deadline is met promptly.
The penalty for late submission is : £100 per dayuntil Friday 11th August 2017 11pm, after which no entries will be accepted.

General RulesAll entries and payments to be submitted by the deadline.
Behaviour deemed ‘unfit’ or ‘un-Islamic’ will not be tolerated. Any gross misconduct or swearing will be severely dealt with by the disciplinary committee. CoEJ and/or the relevant hosting Jamaat will not be responsible/liable for any mental or physical trauma to participants and their belongings.
All teams will have to nominate a team manager/coordinator and they will be the only people to raise any queries with the organizing committee. Under no circumstances will a player be allowed to play for more than 1 team in the same sport.
Participants are allowed to enter as many sports as they wish, providing they do not overlap. Any player representing a team for a particular age will not be allowed to play the same sport for a different age group example playing under 15 , cannot play under 18.Participant application forms include parental consent and disclaimers which now include consent to take photographs of under 16s for the purposes of producing sporting action photos.Slide24
Some more RulesThe starting date of the tournament will be used to determine the age of the participants. Any player, entering the wrong age category will be disqualified.
A player representing his team in singles may also play doubles in the same sport and vice versa, but this will be deemed as participation in two sports. It will be the team manager/coordinator who will be responsible for registration and ensure teams arrive on time, arriving late on the day shall be penalized as
per the rules in their respective sport.Two small Jamaats will be able to merge and submit a team to participate in the tournament. No Jamaat will be allowed to borrow players from bigger Jamaats
. Jamaats that cannot fill their allocated maximum number of teams, the other Jamaats can fill the position with an additional team, with a priority to larger Jamaats, MAMT committee will apply a fair method to assign the additional team in case of high volume of additional teams.Slide25
A Few More RulesAny person using or visiting sports facilities which have been arranged by CoEJ & organising committee does so at their own risk. CoEJ & organising committee does not accept any liability for injury incurred by participating in any sporting activities, either on/off the pitch or whilst spectating. CoEJ & organising committee does not accept liability for any damage to or loss of personal belongings of either participants or spectators whether during the allocated period of play or where belongings are left in changing rooms or on site.
For tennis doubles only: Free to select a doubles partner from same or other Jamaat.Sporting categories are defined by age and also by sport format, e.g., singles or doubles. It is not permitted for a player to play in two age categories
for the same sport. However entrance fees are calculated based on sports played and as singles and doubles are counted as two separate sport entries, the same player can play in, for example, Singles Premiership and Doubles Championship.Participants will be only allowed to play one sport on each day except for Carom and Snooker.Any rules not covered by this document shall be at the discretion of the MAMT committee and their decision will be final and binding.Finally, please note that the qualification criteria for participating is based on each individual
Jamaat’s sports body membership criteria as long as they are of the Shia Ithna Asri faith.Slide26
