Local liaison duties Ensure HCY are identified in coordination with othersEnsure immediate enrollment & access to servicesProvide information about rights & opportunitiesIncludes meaningful opportunities for parents to participate in their children’s education Includes transportation, school meals, & other programs Ensure disputes are mediated May affirm for HUD program that HCY meet MV eligibility criteria

Liaison duties Support UHY in school selection & dispute resolutionEnsure UHY are provided verification of their status for FAFSA purposesProvide training & other support for school personnel Provide referrals to services in the community Collaborate & coordinate services Includes collecting & reporting data

Data Collection Do:Double check & submit your data regularly Begin fixing issues right away Work with your data steward to ensure information is correct Don’t : W ait until the last minute to check & verify your data!

Have Clear Policy and Procedure Identifying & enrolling homeless students, including UHYDetermining best interest for school placement Arranging transportation, meals, & Title I services Handling fines & fees that create barriers Resolving disputes, including providing written notice Working with other LEAs Utilizing community options
