Lord of the Flies: The Movie By Nicholas Parrott

LT 1.5 The theme of Lord of the Flies is in nature humans are naturally savage.

LT 1.1 On the first day the boys are on the island, one important detail of the chapter is ,"…,flashed upwards with a witch-like cry;…" This is meaning to resemble the boys fear and nervousness of the island ,which is foreign to them. They're scared of the unknown.

LT 1.1 Another important detail of the boys first day is ,"...stood there among the skull-like coconuts.." This represents the future for the boys and foreshadows that some of them will die on this island.

LT 1.1 An important detail that happens later in the day is when the boys are on the mountain,"...the slanting sunlight on the high mountain,.." Is meant to be a symbol of hope for the boys that everything is going to be okay.

LT 1.2 An inference that I can make about the boy who claims to see the beastie is that he is scared about them being alone without parents and the beastie is a way to project those fear into reality.

LT 1.3 A piece of textual evidence that supports my logical conclusion about the child who claims to see the beastie is," He was muttering and about to cry. … Piggy knelt by him, one hand on the great shell, listening and interpreting to the assembly." This proves my conclusion because

LT 1.2 Another conclusion I can make is when Ralph is calming down the assembly you can conclude that Ralph doesn’t believe what he is saying. Its just a way to make everyone trust him and to calm himself.

LT 1.3 I can prove my conclusion because of the assembly, "...we shall be rescued.'...The simple statement, unbacked by any proof but the weight of Ralph's new authority, brought light and happiness" This tells us that Ralph doesn’t believe his words because he knows there is no proof behind them, however the other children don’t realize this and believe him. This puts more trust in Ralph and his leadership.

LT 1.4 Specific details help shape the theme when jack confronts the hunters about the fire because, "He noticed blood on his hands and...wiped them on his shorts and laughed." This helps shape the theme by making Jack seem not troubled by death and expanding the theme of humanity is savage by nature.

LT 1.6 The central idea is developed over the text through at first the boys wanting lots of rules to keep everyone in line, to hunting and being tribal-like and savage.

LT 1.7 The author relates to the characters during the assembly as he is using personal experience to write how this meeting would a go if it were run by childern.

LT 1.8 A relationship between Ralph and Piggy is that Ralph admires piggy for his smarts while piggy admires Ralph for his leadership skills.
