Homework Strategies

If students are unable to complete homework for some reason or need additional help, please attach a note to the homework indicating reasons so that I can help them at school. Students should be able to complete homework independently as it is assigned as an extension of our classroom learning. However, parents are encouraged to review homework and provide support as necessary.Slide10

Homework Policies

Weekly Spelling Test

Spelling pre-tests will be given at the beginning of each week . Based on the pre-test results, students will work on regular or challenge word lists. Students who miss 3 or less words will be given challenge words others will work on the regular spelling word lists which correlates with our Basal reading story. Both spelling tests will be given on Fridays. One unannounced bonus word will be given for an extra credit point.Slide12

Spelling City

Your children can log onto Spellingcity.com to access to our weekly spelling words and online learning activities to practice for the spelling test given each Friday. I sent the log on information home with students during the first week or school but have some copies tonight if you need one.Slide13
