Altering the age of someoneSlide2

Open your portrait image of either yourself or your friend

Go to “View” and select “rulers” so that there is a tick by it. This shows rulers along the top and left edge of your document.Slide3

Click on the ruler at the top and drag down. A line will appear. Position this along the eyes, the bottom of the nose, and the corners of the mouth.

Do the same but using the left hand vertical ruler – click and drag across to position a line through the centre of each eye and the middle of the nose.

These will act as your guidelines to help you match up the other older portrait.Slide4

Drag and drop your older image into the document.

Use “free transform” by clicking

cmd+T or finding in the “edit” column to position the features to match the markers you have created with your guidelines.

They may not match perfectly, and you can correct this later, but try to be as specific as possible.Slide5

Go to “Filter” and select “

Liquify”.Make sure the bottom right dialogue box is set to these so that you can see both images together.

Use the top icon on the left to pull parts of your older face into place to accurately match your own photo underneath.

Focus on the eyes, the nostrils, the eyebrows and the mouth.

Click OK when done.Slide6

Turn your older face layer into a mask layer, by clicking on the small rectangle with the white circle icon, and then use your black paintbrush tool to hide parts to reveal your younger face underneath.

I have revealed the eyes, keeping wrinkles around them, the eyebrows, the lips and the hair and hoodSlide7

Refine the final image further by adjusting the levels, the skin tones, the crop, etc.

You may have to adjust your images skin tone to match the old face.

Making your whole image black and white after can enhance the textures of the skin and hide flaws in skin tone matching.
