LinkedIn . Alumnifire. Handshake. What I learned. Coming in with little knowledge as far as how to get jobs /look for internships, this was a great project group. I learned how to make my LinkedIn page professional so that way I can successfully connect with people working in the fields I’m interested in as well as well as recruiters and hiring managers. I learned how to use Alumnifire, as it’s a great way to network with alumni, and they can be great resources. I learned how to use Handshake to apply for internships and jobs. I learned that to be successful it helps to use all 3 in conjunction with each other. I also learned that you have to take initiative and make connections, and these sites are the best for doing so. I’ll be able to use what I learned to improve my chances of getting the opportunities that I want and keeping these profiles up to date will improve .
