Respect What is it ? Respect is a form of kindness we show towards everyone in our lives. we do not only show respect to others but also to the environment and property. Jesus taught us that We must treat others how we would like to be treated ourselves.

After 9/11 Pam Evans started witnessing a lot of Racism and bullying in the school she worked in. When 9/11 happened, the world changed forever. the terrible events of September 11 th 2001, brought with it an aftermath of fear and confusion. the rise in islamophobia in the world was to be expected as a response to the attack. What was more shocking was the rise in Racism and prejudice that we are still faced with today. Pam created Peace Mala to help schools educate children in peace education. The after math

Pam’s Vision Pam Evans, who is the creator of Peace Mala, has a vision. Her vision is that every person in the world no matter their gender, skin colour, what they believe or support; will think of each other a s equal and live in peace. Racism and prejudice against religion and race has been a major problem for centuries. No matter if you are white, black, Asian, Christian, Catholic, Buddhist, Sikh etc; It doesn’t matter, it is just a belief and a skin colour. We should all try to be like Pam and show no prejudice. In our role on the Peace Council this year, we are trying to make that vision a reality. We are trying to make people aware that this doesn’t matter. It’s fine if you don’t believe the same as others but just RESPECT it. RESPECT is very important. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

The golden rule Treat others as you would want to be treated The Golden Rule encourages respect for all regardless of race, colour, religion, gender, ability, age or size. The golden rule is basically the one rule that keeps us all together in peace

Ra inbo w b ea d s The rainbo w beads are a visible symbol of the Golden rule of Peace mala. Each bead represents different religions. these are what some of them stand for; The red bead stands for Christianity which grew out of Judaism. Jesus taught that we should love and forgive our enemies. The orange bead stands for Buddhism. Buddhists believe that we should be mindful of our thoughts, words and actions and show loving kindness to everyone . The yellow bead stands for Sikhism, whose founder , Guru Nanak, preached equality, love and tolerance between all people.

Double Rainb owFourteen spiritual traditions are represented on the bracelet. The central white bead representsthe wearer. The final single bead is used to bring the bracelet around the wearer's wrist. This represents unity, harmony and peace. The Final knot reminds the wearer tofollow the path of peace and friendship , and that our behaviour impacts on everyone we meet.
