Children suffer from cavities, gingivitis and tooth decay. Here’s a sobering statistic: Roughly 51 million school hours are lost each year due to dental problems, according to a 2000 report by the U.S. Surgeon General. A child’s happy, healthy smile is extremely important. That’s the goal of the Lake County Health Department’s “Toothy Two” Mobile Dental Unit.
