Top 10 Problems of the Death PenaltySlide2
Problem #10 Victim is Clueless
The death penalty may be applied at random, often victims are taken not knowing that they are being sentenced to death. Humans, good or bad, deserve to know when their life is actually going to be taken.Slide3
Problem #9 Religious Views
Most religions in the United States oppose the death penalty. Religious views have a huge effect on how America runs. Although many people choose to be unreligious, everyone's religion should be considered.Slide4
Problem #8 Families of Victims
Many families who have had a loved one go through the death penalty were completely against it. They had major depression and terrible memories of the tragic accident which could lead to suicide or other mental illnesses.Slide5
Problem #7 Execution Conductors
Nobody should ever have to kill another human even if it is their job. This would be understandable if a police officer killed a man who endangered many others, but it is not acceptable to put painful and tragic memories into other people's heads.Slide6
Problem #6 State Sponsered
The death penalty is conducted by each state that allows it. This makes the state that gives the execution look barbaric and inhumane. This also makes the surrounding areas look like animals.Slide7
Problem #5 Racial Issues
Many times in the past, African Americans were sent to death in the United States despite actually not conducting any notorious crimes. This doesn't particularly happen much anymore, but it may cause race riots if someone looks like they were wrongfully convicted.Slide8
Problem #4 Botched Executions
It may not happen often, but there has been times in history where executions have been botched. When this happens, the victim will feel more pain than they should have endured in the first place.Slide9
Problem #3 Money Waster
Believe it or not, it is way more expensive to execute a person than to keep them in a prison cell for their whole life. Money is getting thrown out each year when there is a simpler fix to this, life in prison.Slide10
Problem #2 Inhumane
Killing people in public is one of the most inhumane and barbaric things anyone could ever do. We are sometimes killing people who kill people, to show people, that killing is wrong. Where is the logic in that?Slide11
Problem #1 Innocent Deaths
Many times in the past innocent people have been sent to death row or even killed. It is not something you can take back, like a prison sentence. The process of determining someone's innocence is too faulty to allow the possibility of an innocent person to get killed.
