In 1961 MIT student Steve Russell made the first video game, called

spacewars

In 1962 Atari founder Nolan Bushnell sees Spacewars and wants to make computer games.In 1972Bushnell founded Atari and created Pong, a ping-pong game on an arcade system.In 1979 game company Namco releases the most popular arcade game of all time Pac-man. In 1981 Nintendo releases Donkey Kong.From 1982-1984 the Great Crash occurred, because of stock drops, and sales of video games weren't high because there were too many games out.
