Part 1

Our initial guess was that as long as the Narrator walks around at least twice as fast on the road compared to the and, he will get to the taco cart first.

For a more definite answer, the speed on the sand and on the sidewalk is required along with the initially given distances.

Due to the speed on the road being more than twice on sand, our initial guess remained unaffected.

Part 4

What we’ve enjoyed were parts 2 and 3 because they really tested our abilities to think at a critical level. Part 1 was fairly easy so we didn’t enjoy that as much. Parts 2 and 3 were also related to what we’re doing in the class as of now, so that maybe another factor as in why we’ve enjoyed them more than part 1.

This problem tested our thinking and made us think deeply as it was challenging as well as fun which is why we were keen in solving and understanding it rather than just getting the answer. It helped us develop problem-solving skills that could be applied to a real life scenario. These skills, after further developing and honing them will be very beneficial for our future as this was very similar to a real life scenario except that everything was constant, but still it developed a higher level understanding in us.

We really liked that just by plugging in the equation, Wolfram Alpha will solve it by both graphically and algebraically, furthermore show the solving process. And the clear graphics of

Desmos

are also nice as the graph can be clearly read.
