What is health promotionThe fundamental role of health promotion is to “enable people to increase control over, and to improve their own health”Health promotion entails implementing clear multisectoral policies (involving education, health, environment, water resources, food industry, etc), and developing regulations and legislation to make healthy choices accessible and affordable to all.It also includes health literacy which entails empowering individuals to make the healthiest choices and decisions for themselves and their families by increasing their knowledge and social skills.
