Daniel Paulson, PhD Daniel Paulson, a native of W. Virginia, completed his PhD in Clinical Psychology at Wayne State University in 2013. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Paulson directs the Orlando Later-Life Developmental Research Lab ( OLDeR Lab), and his primary areas of research include geriatric mental health (principally late-life depression) and dementia caregiving. Maggie Syme, PhD, MPH Maggie Syme is currently an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Research for the Center on Aging at Kansas State University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate gerontology classes and her research is focused on sexual health and wellness in late life. She is a counseling psychologist, trained at the University of Kansas and is an alumni of the postdoctoral training program at VA Boston. Contact Dr. Syme : msyme@ksu.edu
Christopher Beam, PhD Christopher Beam is an incoming Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Southern California. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Virginia in 2015, completed his clinical internship at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and his postdoctoral training in clinical geropsychology with Drs. Margaret Gatz and Eileen Crimmins at the University of Southern California. He is a former F31 NRSA fellow, a fellow in the International Max Planck Research School on the Life Course, and a current recipient of an Alzheimer's Association Research Fellowship. His current research focuses on the genetic and biological pathways through which psychosocial factors influence Alzheimer's disease risk. Contact Dr. Beam: beamc@usc.edu
Bruna Martins, PhD Bruna Martins will be starting in the Fall 2018 at Umass Amherst as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neuroscience in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. She is the Director of the UMass Vitality Lab, and her research explores emotion and cognition interactions that support vitality across the lifespan. She received her PhD with an emphasis in Clinical Geropsychology from the University of Southern California in 2017. She completed her clinical internship and is currently finishing a Post-Doctoral Clinical Fellowship in Geropsychology at VA Boston. Contact Dr. Martins: Bruna.Martins@va.gov
