A film that’s mainstream is one that most people would like and watch
Alternative is something departs from the traditional norm
Niche is when something is enjoy by a small, very specific group of people
Avengers: Age of Ultron is definitely a mainstream because it would appeal to a lot of people and make a lot of money.
