Purpose Statement

The purpose of my e-portfolio is to showcase a record of my best work, personal and academic achievements. Becoming

a Social Psychologist is a career goal I am working to accomplish. I have thought about what I want to do as a career for a long time and now I am working towards it by attending Walden University for the Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology program.

My E-Portfolio demonstrates my abilities to succeed in the Psychology field. I am creating this portfolio for my own use so I know what I have completed and what I need to work on. I am also creating this portfolio for anyone I allow to view to see my experiences, skills and achievements.

 I view myself as an independent, dependable, a team player and creative person. I am a very good listener which is important when counseling individuals. I am receiving everything I need from Walden University to excel in the Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology program. I am furthering my education by enrolling in the Master’s program in Social Psychology. I will demonstrate what I have learned by showcasing my achievements, awards, certificates and licenses.  My e-Portfolio allows me to organize my materials in a place where they will not be damaged or lost. I want my resumes and cover letters perfect and they can be stored for safekeeping with as many versions as I want. My e-portfolio will be used to showcase my work and the employer or any other person can be invited to view it. I can include more than word processed documents, PowerPoint slide shows, digital art or multimedia projects. Basically all types of electronic media can be used in my e-portfolio.  Slide5

Intended Audience

My intended audience will be future academic advisors and personal for my Master’s program in

Social Psychology and any future employers. Currently I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from the Psychology program this year (2014) at Walden University. I have a Real Estate Sales Associates License since 2004 to present. I have all office experience including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. My future goal is to become a

Social Psychologist

and have a career in counseling.So far I have taken all the require courses needed in

order to receive my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. I plan to finish graduate school at Walden University in the Master’s program. Slide6

Method of Organization

In my e-Portfolio I want the contents to make it easier for myself and others to view all my achievements, skills, work experience and also what I need to work on for future goals and make sure it is clearly organized

. I am using the e-portfolio to safeguard all my documents, PowerPoint, resume, awards and anything else I need to keep safe.

1981-1990/ Helped out in my mother’s law office on and off throughout the years performing secretary work, going to the courthouse to file papers and working in the law library. I helped out the church giving out clothing and feeding the homeless. I have helped single mothers find the proper resources to get their lives back on track.

Reflective Evaluation

When I look back at the courses I have taken for my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I see that I have been able to understand the courses needed in order to graduate and the majority of the lessons went well. I know that I have chosen the right career for me.

The collection I have is evidence of my learning over time. My e-portfolio is my reflection on why I chose the Psychology program and what I learned from the process of developing my e-portfolio. Reflecting on my education throughout my 4

year undergraduate degree

in Psychology at Walden University, I have been able to see what I have learned and what I need to learn. I know that I need to continue to reflect on my learning beyond my University. I believe that this e-portfolio will benefit not only me but educators and employers who view it. Slide13
