Cross Creek Community Church Pastor Dave Martin Oct 25 2015 Imitate Christ Galatians 52223 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness . For I Am. Of the Gospel. Part 16 . In Christ…No Condemnation. Romans 7:25-8:11. We have now come to arguably the greatest chapter in the entire Bible. One of the men I admire, Ken Rudolph, put it this way, if he were stranded on a desert island with only one chapter in the entire Bible he would choose Romans 8. One could study and probe the width and breadth of Romans 8 for a lifetime. For the purpose of our study, we are breaking Romans 8 down into 5 bite-size pieces that focus on our new identity that is found in Christ. We’ve broken it down this way:. . Chapter 15. Directions for dealing with “the weak”. Romans 15:1-7 ESV. (1) We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.. (2) Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.. • . Faith. • Our Union with Christ. • Israel and the plan of God. • Living for God. Being Right with God. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” . Proverbs 16:25, 14:12. 1 Corinthians 4:1-21. “Paul has the dubious distinction among the earliest Christians of irritating everyone at some point.” . Richards and O’Brien. ‘Fools for Christ’ - . 1 Corinthians 4:1-21. “But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner” (Hebrews 6:9).. Things That Accompany Salvation. Spiritual Growth. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Romans 1. In . the fall . of 1857. , the nineteen-year-old Joseph F. was returning from his mission in Hawaii, and in California he joined a wagon train. It was a volatile time for the Saints. Johnston’s Army was marching towards Utah, and many had bitter feelings towards the Church. One evening several hoodlums rode into camp, cursing and threatening to hurt every Mormon they could find. Most in the wagon train ran and hid in the brush. But Joseph F. thought to himself: “Shall I run from these fellows? Why should I fear them?” With that, he walked up to one of the intruders who, with pistol in hand, demanded, “Are you a Mormon?” Joseph F. Smith responded, “Yes . The weak and strong brothers. In CONTEXT with Romans 12 . and 13. Your only debt is to love your neighbor. Serving and loving your brother. Serving the Lord. Romans 14:1-4. Accept the one who is weak IN FAITH. 11 . And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. . 12 . The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. . Man is without strength . 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. . . . 2.  For the law of the Spirit of life has set . you free . in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. . 3.  For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin. Cross Creek Community Church, Pastor Dave Martin – August 2, 2015. Introduction…. "If conversion to Christianity makes no improvement in a man's outward actions - if he continues to be just as snobbish or spiteful or envious or ambitious as he was before - then I think we must suspect that his 'conversion' was largely imaginary." .
