Slide4Application categories
Slide5Application ratesSome groups are more likely to put themselves forward than others – some may need specific encouragement to apply
All staff should be encouraged and supported to develop and to strengthen their case for promotion
Slide6Common PrinciplesEvery applicant must demonstrate citizenship (evidenced) and will not progress unless they can do so
Everyone required to carry out teaching (T&C, T&R) must evidence critical reflective practice
Those carrying out academic research (R, T&R)
are assessed on research quality as well as reference to subject norms on quantity of outputs
Promotion is through excellence in a specialist area (whether research; teaching; external engagement) as appropriate to career path and contract.
T&R Grade 8 to 9 is an expected progression so ability and effectiveness rather than excellence is required
