Job title Director of Housing Management Reports to Executive Director Compensation DOE Classification Exempt - Full Time The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) develops and manages affordable housing, expanding opportunities for people who are low - i ncome and/or homeless, provides technical assistance to communities and other non - profits, and advocates for housing justice. LIHI owns over 2,200 apartments in six counties in the Puget Sound region, with the majority in King County. Job purpose Overse es and directs property management activities related to the organization's diverse residential and commercial portfolio. Supervises and directs activities of property management staff. The position is responsible for the overall successful operations of p roperties in partnership with the divisions and works to ensure department operations meet or surpass regulatory standards. Manage a workload of multiple projects in a collaborative environment with minimal supervision, must have the ability to meet deadl ines, apply critical thinking skills, communicate clearly, anticipate problems, utilize strong organizational skills, and pay attention to detail. Duties and responsibilities  Responsible for property management for all LIHI owned buildings and properties .  Provide leadershi p to area m anagers , compliance, maintenance staff and build a cohesive team.  Oversee operations of LIHI projects including asset management, property management

2 functions, building maintenance , and
functions, building maintenance , and repairs, safety, marketing and leasing .  Oversee all aspects of commercial storefront planning and leasing.  Prepare regular project status reports to the Executive D irector and Board of Director.  Recommend policies to improve management and operations.  C oordinate and assist with inspections by public funders and investors.  P rovide leadership and vision for the long - range strategic plan.  Work with staff and funders to expand social and supportive services to residents.  Parti cipate in project planning with Housing Development team in areas such a s program planning and design for new projects, providing support in community relations, relocation planning, and developing new operating budgets and management plans.  Communicate regularly and effectively with the C.F.O. on financial operations.  Establi sh and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies — HUD, city, county and state officials, community groups, etc. — in relation to property management issues.  Handle other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:  Minim um of five years of experience at a senior management level in residential property management, facilities management, or housing programs and services.  Experience with and knowledge of government housing programs and regulatory requirements.  Strong manage ment, team - building

3 and interpersonal skills.  Excell
and interpersonal skills.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to work with people of diverse economic, social and ethnic backgrounds.  Commitment to and interest in housing very low - income and homeless people and w orking with housing and human services.  Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new policies and procedures and to manage operations in a growth model.  Familiarity with commercial leasing and management and/or property development.  Strong administrat ive and financial management skills.  Familiarity with building maintenance systems.  Proficient with computer systems.  Knowledge of landlord - tenant law and procedures. Preferred Qualifications:  Certification from Institute of Real Estate Management.  Famil iarity with supportive housing.  Experience in community relations and/or public relations.  Familiarity with King County and surrounding communities. Working conditions Regular travel to sites under LIHI property portfolios. Must have reliable car. This p osition is open until filled.
