An articulated robot is a robot with rotary . joints (. e.g. a legged robot or an industrial robot). Articulated robots can range from simple two-jointed structures to systems with 10 or more interacting joints. They are powered by a variety of means, . “Making cogs turn”. Literacy Numeracy. A . robot.  is a machine or a computer program which seems to have a life of its own. .. A . social robot . is a robot that interacts and communicates with humans. . Fawn . Qiu. Final Project Proposal. Proposal. We have all played with robots, from . furby. to Lego . Mindstorm. , toys are the simplest form of robots. For my final project, I wanted to create a library of small simple robots and put together few instructable.com tutorials to help people make their own toy robots. I think this would be great way for people to experience play, science, and childhood. . Supervisor. : . Dr. . Yiu. . Siu. Ming. Second Examiner. : . Professor Francis . Y.L.. Chin. Student. : Vu . This research was conducted in order to develop a method of mapping carried out primarily by Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots. The robots were made to use leJOS, allowing them to run Java programs. An algorithm was developed that would make a robot traverse an area, scanning the terrain at a frequency chosen by the user, allowing a balance of speed and precision. One robot can map a flat area of user-given dimensions with satisfactory precision. When additional robots are added, the mapping process is much faster. Based on the number of robots, the area is divided into smaller sections which are then scanned by individual robots. This research shows that robotic mapping systems are viable.. Institute of laser for postgraduate studies. University . of . Baghdad. LASER DELIVERY SYSTEMS . TYPES OF DELIVERY SYSTEMS (LASER TRANSMISSION ). The size and weight of typical surgical laser systems are such that the laser cannot be held in the surgeon’s hand like a scalpel. It is relatively immobile. Therefore some flexible, light weight device must be provided to transmit the radiant power from the laser to the surgical target.. Brick construction is very brittle and susceptible to cracking due to movement. Movement occurs for many different reasons, including variations in climate or temperature, movement in the frame and movement in the foundations. Articulation joints accommodate these movements in a building..
