Temperate Rain Forest: Transcript

By Lexi Lesperance and Adi Hays Temperate Rainforest What is The Temperate Rainforest The Temperate Rainforest is a small biome along the northwest coast of Northern California It also includes little parts of Southern Chile New Zealand The Temperate Rainforest covers about 75 million acres of earth 23 of The Temperate Rainforests are in the Pacific Northwest . Botanist. By: Claire Riddell. Plants In the Deciduous Forest. Sunlight and soil and climate (such as rain) help the plants in the temperate deciduous forest because the sunlight and the rain, help the plants grow, and the soil fertilizes the plants to also keep it healthy and help the growth. The forest floor is large and that means more room for lots of plants. Over 2/3 of the forest is made up of the leaf area and plants. There are many trees and a very large amount of flowers. The rays of the sun help the plants grow. Water from the rain keep the plants alive. Plants grow under the shady trees and there are many wildflowers and shrubs in the Temperate Deciduous Forest. . The best biome ever!!!. Where can you find this amazing biome?. Climate….. 4 seasons!. Snow, Rain, Sleet, Hail. Temperature & Rain. Average temperature a year=50ºF.. The . temperate . forest is in . north . america. Black bear. black bears live in the temperate forest. The black bears eat frogs red squirrels eggs mice and birds the black bears have huge skulls.. Temperate Rainforest. The Temperate Rain Forest is a richly productive biome. Mild temperatures and abundant rainfall encourage plant growth, and the forest is covered with plant life at every level. Because chemical reactions occur more slowly at lower temperatures, the minerals in dead plant material are recovered more slowly than in the tropical rain forest. The forest floor is carpeted with fallen needles, and fungi grow on fallen logs.. Deciduous forest. bear eat the Deere and the vulgar eat the leftovers or ground hogs eat the grass and the wolf eat the groundhog then the bear eats the wolf parrot producer.. What is an example of food or webs here. . 6.2 – Forest Biomes. 6.3 – Grasslands, Deserts, and . Tundra. Objectives. Describe. . how plants describe the name of a biome.. Explain. . how temperature and precipitation determine which plants grow in an area.. Geography: . Northern . Hemisphere. Southern Hemisphere.  . Climate and Temperature:. Cool, rainy areas. Avg. temperature is 75. 2-5 feet of precipitation. Humid. Biotic Factors:. Trees lose leaves in Fall. group of ecosystems that have same climate & dominant communities. TROPICAL RAIN FOREST. has most species, BIODIVERSITY. canopy = top |  understory =  below canopy . hot & wet year round; . Biome. a major regional terrestrial community with its own type of climate, vegetation, and animal life. . Q. What determines biomes? . A. Mainly climate. Q. What determines climate?. A. Many things, including tilt of earth’s axis, proximity to oceans, presence of mountains, wind currents.
