Are AC and CD parallel?

AC = 4a – b – (5a – 3b)

= 4a – b – 5a + 3b

= 2b – a

CD = 5a – 3b + (4b – 8a)

= 5a – 3b + 4b – 8a

= 6b – 3a

AC × 3 = 6b – 3a

Yes, they are parallel.

ACD is a straight line.

3(AC) = CD

AE = (b

2a) + (3a − 3b) = a −
