British ships were smuggling goods from Florida and the Spanish threatened these sailors. Causing Oglethorpe to want to go to battle.

The Georgians were invading Florida in hopes of gaining Saint Augustine. They were loosing and had to retreat. The Battle of the Bloody Marsh was the changing point in the war.

Oglethorpe and his soldiers and the Highland Scots were able to ambush the Spanish Causing them to retreat back to Florida and they stayed their for years to come.Slide30
