Educational Opportunity Program provides access, academic support and financial aid to students who show promise for succeeding in college but who may not have otherwise been offered admission. There is a non-refundable application fee of $50 per campus selection.Submit Your Supplemental Applications.In addition to your online application, some campuses may require or recommend

What is HEOP?

The Higher Education Opportunity Program is a partnership between the State of New York and its

independent, PRIVATE colleges

which provides economically and educationally disadvantaged residents the possibility of a college education.There are 58 HEOP programs throughout New York State!!!!Slide16

ELIGIBILITY

A State resident for 12 months prior to enrollment;

Require special admissions consideration: your GPA & SAT scores must be within a certain range. You must qualify as economically disadvantaged according to the guidelines. In selecting students for the program, priority is given to applicants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.Note: Applicants deemed ineligible for these programs may still qualify for admission and financial aid through other admission processes

Helpful General Tips for the College Application Process

1. Meet with your College Advisor before submitting your CUNY/SUNY/Common Application!!!!

If you make an error it is difficult to correct

2. Must send SAT scores to schools directly through College Board: www.collegeboard.org CUNY Code is UAPCSUNY & Private are directly to each individual school3. Print out a copy for your records and your college file

4. Stay Organized!!!
